Two years after the province announced the harmonization of its sales tax, British Columbians will soon find out if it stays or if it goes.

Results from the HST referendum will be released Friday after counting is completed, three weeks after voting closed.

The results will first be given to the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, after which a news release will be sent to media outlets across the province.

Elections BC estimates that around 52 per cent of those eleigible to vote sent in their ballots, about 1.6 million residents.

The results will be available on the Elections BC website at http://electionsbcenr.blob.core.windows.net/electionsbcenr/REF-2011-001.html.
