More dust suppression in the South Peace

Dust control is applied to specific sections of road to address local concerns with dust near homes, school zones, playgrounds, businesses and community buildings.  Work is underway and will be completed by the end of July.

In 2010, the ministry allocated an additional $500,000 in support of this program.  The ministry’s commitment of $1.2 million this year for dust control is more than double last year’s.

This funding is in addition to Caribou Road Services’ annual commitment to dust suppression as part of its South Peace highway maintenance service contract.
