Despite the less than ideal weather, the local community garden will have the opportunity to flourish.

Taking place in Fort St. John on Saturday July, 23 will be Bye-Bye Rain, Hello Fresh Veggies, a local event where residents will have the opportunity to acquire fresh grown veggies and plants in hopes of revitalizing the community garden.

The community garden is an enclosed area where residents who don’t have access to a garden of their own, can reserve spots to plant and grow personal gardens.

The event will be taking place on 102 Ave, behind the Fort St. John Medical Clinic. Plant delivery will be taking place from 9-10 a.m. and transplanting veggies into garden beds will be happening from 10-2 p.m.

The large quantity of fresh veggies and herbs, as well as flowers and plants available has all been generously donated by Walker Greenhouses.

Those in attendance will have the opportunity to acquire whole garden plots or addition plants or veggies for already existing gardens.
