The event is a fundraiser for the Canadian Cancer Society and specifically the money goes towards children’s cancer research and to send families dealing with childhood cancer to Camp Goodtimes.
To help raise funds for the event, the RCMP are holding two fundraising events. The first is on Saturday July 16 at the Canadian Tire. RCMP members will be running a dunk tank and BBQ. Members from the detachment will take turns in the hot seat during the fundraising event.
Then on Wednesday July 20, the 2011 Jail and Bail will take place at Lakeview Credit Union. Local residents can submit warrants for the arrest of other Dawson Creek residents who will have to raise funds for the jail and bail before they are released.
