Fort St. John is preparing to celebrate its musical diversity.
The City, recently designated as the Music Capital of Northern B.C., will be holding an outdoor concert at Centennial Park next week. The concert is only one of a series of events celebrating the City’s love of local music.
The concert, entitled On a Northern Note: A Tribute to Music of the 60’s through 90’s, is scheduled to take place on July 23, from 6-8 p.m. and is free to attend. The event will be featuring a variety of local musicians.
However, the music doesn’t just stop at 8 p.m., there will be an informal jam session and anyone can join in, all that’s needed is a musical instrument. The jam session will immediately follow the concert and last until 9 p.m.
The event is suitable for the whole family and those in attendance are encouraged to bring a blanket or chairs.
In the case of rain, the event will be held at the North Peace Cultural Centre.
