The collision happened Friday morning at the intersection of Highway 97 and the Dangerous Goods Route.
Dawson Creek RCMP have just released details about the incident, saying a truck broadsided a car at around 10:30 a.m.
Ralph Waite, an elderly, long-time resident of Fort St. John, was a passenger in the car and passed away in hospital on Sunday.
A memorial tea will be held in his memory at 2 p.m. on Thursday at the Charlie Lake Hall.
Police are continuing to investigate the collision and are asking anyone with information to contact Constable Sanderson at 250-784-3700.
