With a high rainfall warning in effect for the Peace River Region, the B.C. River Forecast Centre has issued a High Streamflow Advisory for the area, as well as for the Williston Lake tributaries.

The Centre says river levels are expected to rise due to the amount of rain predicted for the area and there is a possibility river levels will be high beginning Friday evening and over the weekend.

Environment Canada is predicting anywhere between 50 and 70 mm overnight Thursday and another 10 to 20 mm, Friday.

As a result, the high-end precipitation estimate is around 105 mm.

The Centre says it will monitor river levels and issue updates, if necessary.

Information on streamflow conditions can be viewed on the Centre’s website.
