AltaGas has confirmed it now has final regulatory approval to move forward with construction of its Gordondale gas processing facility in the Alberta Peace.

The plant will include facilities to extract liquids from natural gas, allowing the company to reach additional markets.

The plant and gathering system will cost around $235 million and will be located in the Montney Resource Area just across the border, approxmiately 100 km northwest of Grande Prairie.

It is expected to be in service in late 2012 and the two-phased project will allow for early production to the AltaGas Pouce Coupe facility prior to coming online.
