A local horse enthusiast is preparing to take his knowledge to an international level.

Glenn Stewart, owner of the Horse Ranch in Fort St. John, has been selected to represent Canada for the World Championship of Colt Starting in the Road to the Horse 2012, taking place from March 9-11, 2012 in Murfreesboro, TN.

The three-day competition will match six of the world’s best horse trainers and clinicians against one another, as they attempt to train unbroken colts to ride in just a few short hours, in front of a packed live audience.

The upcoming Road to the Horse will be hosting the first ever international competition, as previous years have only included participants from the United States. This year, the event will include competitors from Canada, as well as Australia.

Glenn will represent Team Canada with his good friend and fellow clinician, Jonathan Field. Stewart says “I’m excited and honoured to represent Canada in this international competition, and there is no one I would rather be on a team with than Jonathan.”
