The unemployment rate in northeastern B.C. Dropped again in May.

The unemployment rate in the region is currently sitting at 5.1 per cent which is a 0.3 per cent drop from April 2011.

This is the lowest unemployment rate the region has seen since March of 2010, when the unemployment rate sat at 4.6 per cent.

The current rate puts our region with the lowest unemployment rate in province, with Victoria right behind us at 5.9 per cent and the Cariboo at 7.2 per cent. The Abbotsford-Mission region current has the highest unemployment rate in the Province at 9.7 per cent.

The province as a whole saw a big drop in the unemployment rate to 7.8 per cent from 8.4 per cent in April.
