The North East Hose Lay, also known as the Fire Department Games, competition was held on Saturday in Chetwynd at the West Wind Motel and RV Park.
Fire Department teams were from Charlie Lake, Pouce Coupe, Toms Lake, Taylor and Chetwynd.
Results of over six hours of friendly competition resulted in the following:
Fire Fighters Grand Aggregate:
First: Tomslake
Second: Chetwynd
Third`: Charlie Lake
Partners’ Grand Aggregate:
First: Tomslake
Second: Chetwynd
Third: Taylor
Each and every fire fighter had a great time and a brisk competition occurred in each of the five events. Hose Hockey ended the day with Charlie Lake Fire winning by one point.
A special thanks is extended to all visiting teams, West Wind Motel and RV Park, the Chetwynd Royal Canadian Legion, the Knights of Columbus, AIM Trucking and the three major sponsors: the District of Chetwynd, Walter Coal and Conoco Phillips.
Next year’s Hose Lay will be Taylor and sponsored by the Taylor Fire/Rescue.
