Starting Saturday, residents of Fort St. John will be encouraged to be a tourist in their own town.
Taking place from June 11-18, the Fort St. John Visitor Centre will be presenting “Be a Tourist in Your Own Town Week.”
This year’s event will begin with a BBQ on Saturday at the Visitor Centre, taking place from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. with all the proceeds being donated to the SPCA.
The week long event is designed to raise awareness of all services available through the Visitor Centre to residents and visitors of Fort St. John. Some of those services include trip planning advice, event information and accommodation booking.
The week also draws attention to the attractions and activities the Peace Region has to offer.
Other events taking place throughout the week include the Energetic Amazing Race, Plan Your BC Vacation Day, Taste of the Town and many more. There will also be draws and prizes available to be won all week.
