Three projects in the Peace region will benefit from the provincial program Towns for Tomorrow.

Friday the Province announced funding for 47 projects in British Columbia. The City of Dawson Creek will receive $372,773 to fund improvements to the sewage treatment plant blower building. The Peace River Regional District will receive $375,000 for a energy efficiency accessibility retrofit and Tumbler Ridge will get $320,000 for a permanent erosion control project.

Communities with a population under 5,000 are receiving up to 80 per cent provincial funding, to a maximum contribution of $400,000 for approved projects. Communities with populations from 5,000 to 15,000 are getting up to 75 per cent, to a maximum provincial contribution of $375,000.

Towns for Tomorrow funding is intended to support the development or improvement of local infrastructure.
