After completing the Community Plan Review, the City is preparing for what comes next.

The next step in the important process of creating an Official Community Plan is to decide on a Vision Statement, in which the City requires the help of its residents.

This important component of the OCP outlines the plans for the future of the community. The Vision Statement should be a source of inspiration to the community by answering the following questions: What do we do? From whom do we do it? How do we excel?

Throughout the past four years there have number a number of vision statements created and now, the City must decide on the best option with regards to the vision of Fort St. John.

Before a vote can occur for the preferred Statement, the City would like to review all the options, giving the public a chance to listen, comment and change any of the presented Statements.

As a result, the City will be hosting an open house to discuss these Vision Statements. The session will be held at the Pomeroy Sport Centre on Saturday, June 11 and will be taking place from 2 until 4 p.m.

Later in June, after the information from these sessions has been gathered, the public will have the opportunity to vote on the Vision Statement they feel best represents the future of Fort St. John.
