A local resident is holding a three-day fundraising event with various activities for the residents of Slave Lake, Alta.
The event is being organized by Trish Carlson and will begin on Friday with a talent show and barbecue at the yard beside the United Church in Fort St. John, off 100 St., starting at 7 p.m. The barbecue will be by donation and Patch Java will be donating $1 from every ice cap sold.
On Saturday, residents can take part in a boot camp with Kelly from Peak Performance. The outdoor boot camp will take place between 9:30 and 11 a.m. at Kin Park and is by donation.
Then, on Sunday Today’s Technique will be hosting an hour-long indoor MET class, similar to a circuit training session starting at 11:30. This session will also be by donation.
Slave Lake residents were forced from their homes after a wildfire destroyed around one third of the town nearly two weeks ago.
Anyone interested in being part of Friday’s talent show or would like more information on the fundraiser is encouraged to contact Trish at 250-263-7558 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
