Fort St. John and Dawson Creek will be holding a public forum regarding the harmonized sales tax.
On Tuesday, May 24, residents in the Peace Region interested in speaking their mind will have the opportunity to take part in the first of 11 public forums regarding the HST.
Those interested will have the option to express themselves in person at the Northern Lights College at the Dawson Creek campus in room 116 in the Health Sciences Building, or through a video-conference at the Fort St. John college in room 101 at the Main Campus building. The meetings will begin at 7:30 p.m. and will run until 9 p.m.
During the forum, people on both sides of the argument will have the ability to present their views about the HST referendum in a public meeting format.
The goal of the forum is to generate informed discussions before the vote on the HST. An independent representative has also been selected to impartially moderate the forum.
The moderator selected for the Peace Region forum is Laurie Rancourt, the president and CEO of Northern Lights College.
Anyone interested is invited to attend or watch the sessions online at www.hstpublicforum.ca
