The value of construction in Fort St. John last month, as the result of the issuance of 15 permits, was nearly $6 million.

That was nearly double the $3.3 million total from 14 permits in the same month last year, and it left the year-to-date total at more than $281 million.

Thanks mostly to the permit worth more than $270 million for the new hospital, it means this year’s four month total is more than 20 times the total for the same period in 2010.

The year-over-year city revenue numbers tell a similar story.

The total this year is more than $553,000, and that’s seven times the $79,000 total for the same period last year.
