Prince George RCMP are searching for a woman who is wanted for identity theft.

Police say they believe the unknown woman is using several different identities and at least one that they know has been stolen.

They say that back in 2007, a Fort St. John woman named Michal Anne Peters had her identity stolen. The unknown suspect has also been using the names Gene (or Genie) M. Balanik and Gina Berg in the Prince George area. They say the woman has been using the names to apply for jobs and various memberships and are not sure if either name is the woman’s actual name.

She is wanted for impersonation/identity theft, obstructing a police officer, uttering forged documents and possession of property obtained by crime.

Police believe the woman may have now left Prince George but may be in the Fort St. John area or another part of B.C. or Alberta.

The woman is described as being between 25 and 35 years old, 5’6” and 131 lbs. She has brown hair and brown eyes, along with several piercings in her ears.

Police also say the woman is outgoing and easily speaks to people.

Anyone with information about this woman or her whereabouts is asked to contact the Prince George RCMP detachment at 250-561-3300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
