Residents of Fort St. John are being given the opportunity to gain better insight into the job description of an RCMP officer.

On Wednesday May 18, the local RCMP will be hosting an open house, taking place at the detachment building from 7 until 9 p.m. The open house is being held in honour of Police Week, which occurs from May 15 to 21.

The RCMP has extended an invitation for anyone to attend and learn about the various services provided by the local authorities.

It is also a great opportunity to meet officers from a variety of departments, who will be on hand to answer questions and explain the different aspects of their job.

The open house will also include a live demonstration by Cst. Brady Kyle and “Barter”, a member of the Police Dog Service. The live demonstration will take place at 8 p.m.
