Dawson Creek entrepreneur recognized by Oilweek Magazine

Another national honor was bestowed on a local woman entrepreneur this past week as Sandra Minifie, CEO of Action Health & Safety Services was inducted into the Oilweek Magazine’s 2011 Class of Rising Stars.

Minifie was chosen along with 12 other inductees out of one hundred potential candidates from all over Canada. This award recognizes her substantial contributions to the oil and gas industry and to the community she lives in.

Minifie was recognized for parlaying her esteem building stint with the Canadian Military into confidence to acquire and grow a wildly successful health, safety and security business. That same business that garnered national attention in 2010 when her business was ranked among Canada’s fastest growing and most profitable businesses.

A big part of her award was based on Minifie contributions to her community. This includes sitting on three boards in Dawson Creek; South Peace Community Resource Society, Community Futures, and the Bear Mountain  Ski Hill. As well, she donates to various causes from homelessness to the performing arts centre and education.

Sandra was a past recipient of the Entrepreneur of the Year at the Chamber of Commerce’s business recognition dinner.
