Co-author of the classic story, A Promise is a Promise will be visiting Fort St. John.

On Saturday April 30, Michael Kusugak will be visiting the city Library for an hour of storytelling, which will begin at 2 p.m. Both he and Robert Munsch wrote the children’s story.

Kusugak grew up residing in igloos and sod huts, traveled by dog to follow the caribou and even lived on sea ice so he and his family could hunt seals, whales and other fish.

He uses his lifetime Inuit experiences, as well as stories told by his grandmother in his storytelling sessions. Kusugak combines his experiences of nomadic traditional Inuit life with the changes that have occurred over the last 60 years.

The session is free of charge and anyone interested is encouraged to attend. For more information on the event please contact the Fort St. John Public Library at 250-785-3731.
