Chetwynd RCMP search for hit and run vehicle

The Chetwynd RCMP are looking for a driver and vehicle after a hit and run Saturday night.

At approximately 11:15 p.m., a vehicle, believed to be a mini-van, struck a female pedestrian on 52 avenue northeast in the Rodeo subdivision in Chetwynd.

The vehicle then quickly fled the scene, backing into a sign in the process. The female was transported to hospital where she was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The mini-van is described as two-toned in colour with blue on the top and a silver/grey colour on the lower portion of the vehicle. The van may have visible damage on the rear bumper from striking the sign.

The Chetwynd RCMP ask that anyone with information call 250-788-9221 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
