The EnCana Events Centre has transformed in preparation for the 12th Annual Spring Break-up event Saturday night.

Over 400 yards of dirt have been laid over a customized deck used to cover the ice and cement floor. The venue started the transformation into rodeo grounds early this week and is now set to host the third stop on the Canadian Professional Rodeo circuit.

Venue doors will open at 5:00PM, the bulls start at 7:00PM and the dance will begin at 10:00PM. All riders are competing for money and points that will go towards their chances to qualify for the Canadian Finals Rodeo in Edmonton this November.

Event organizer Kimeal Cooke said “This is a terrific event to take the entire family to over the Easter weekend. Along with the 11-14 year old steer riders and professional bull riders, including six Canadian Professional Rodeo Association Champions; we will be entertained by the top funny guy in professional rodeo, Dennis Holsted.”

The 12th Annual Spring Break-up Party will see thirty professional bull riders, including Cole Collins from Fort St. John. The event will also host the baby bull riders in the steer riding competition.

Canadian Rodeo Association Champions Tyler Thompson, Scott Schiffner, Jess Torkelson, Jody Turner, Tanner Girlitz and Steven Turner will also be joined by Australian Champion Kyle Louden. Check out the Canadian Professional Rodeo Association’s website at for the full event .
