The B.C. residents will soon have the opportunity to participate in a tele-town hall.

Starting April 26, Minister of Finance Kevin Flacon and Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure Blair Lekstrom are welcoming the public to partake in a series of regionally based telephone town halls. The Harmonized Sales Tax will be the focus of these phone calls.

The town halls are a unique opportunity for the general public to talk directly with government ministers and offer suggestions on how the HST can be improved.

Citizens will receive a phone call in the early evening of their regional town hall. If interested in participating, they can stay on the line and follow the instructions of the recorded message.

The town hall in the Peace River area will take place Wednesday, April 27 at 6:30 p.m.

More information on the tele-town halls can be found at the government of B.C.’s  HST website.
