School District 60 will be receiving more than $1.4 million as part of the Province’s annual facilities grants.

The Province has allocated a total of $110 million over 2011-2012 so school districts across B.C. can maintain and refurbish their schools.

The money can be used for a variety of upkeep purposes, including mechanical upgrades, roofing and flooring projects, and painting.

However, the provincial government is also allowing school districts to use the funds to improve staff and student safety, as well as increase energy efficiency in their facilities.
