One artist and an arts organization in the Peace River Region are receiving several thousand dollars in grants from the B.C. Arts Council.
Writing on the Ridge in Rolla is receiving $7,500 in funding for a community festival. In Taylor, musician Jody Peck is receiving $2,400 for touring.
The artist and the organization are two of 143 groups from across the province receiving $3.578 million in funding for a wide range of programs, including touring and visual arts.
The funding is provided based on recommendations made by an independent board and is aided by the 2010 Sports and Arts Legacy.
