The federal Liberals may soon have an official candidate for the Prince George-Peace River riding.
Ben Levine is currently uncontested in his candidacy for the Liberal nomination, which will take place on Monday.
The 40 year-old lawyer from Prince George says the Liberals hope to bring respectability back to the federal government, believing that the Harper government has undermined democracy.
He says economic development is one of the key points of his platform.
He says during his campaign, he will specifically focus on the softwood lumber industry and the gateway initiative, meant to strengthen both overseas trade and trade with the United States.

Levine says he would like to focus on making the area around the riding an economic powerhouse and ensure that there is more of a partnership between government and the private sector.
The riding has been a Conservative stronghold for several decades and Levine says he hopes to change that by speaking directly with constituents. He says the Conservatives have always taken for granted that they would hold a seat in the Prince George-Peace River riding seat, but that he will do his best to ensure that changes.
