Musician Gary Oker will be holding a release party for his newest project “Ride.”

The event will be taking place this Friday at the North Peace Cultural Centre starting at 7 p.m.

This is Oker’s first real album and according to the artist, “infuses traditional language and chants with undertones of orchestral instruments, violins, world beat rhythms with country harmonies.”
Oker says the inspiration for the album came to him while on a motorcycle ride through South Dakota.

Friday’s celebration will include a multi-media presentation, showcasing songs on the album, as well as live music and dance. The event is open to the general public and costs $22 to attend. Those who attend will also receive a free “Ride” CD.
