Premier Christy Clark is making her first official stop in Fort St. John since being sworn-in as B.C.’s newest premier.

Throughout the leadership race, one of Clark’s campaign platforms was to hold town hall meetings across the province and to actually listen to residents views. Fort St. John will be the official host of the first town hall meeting in the province.

Clark will be addressing four topics at the town hall, says Peace River North MLA Pat Pimm. The focus of the discussion will be on the future of the oil and gas industry, rural health care, the northern transportation corridor and open government.

Pimm says the fact that the Premier is holding her first town hall in Fort St. John shows that she understands the importance of the north and the northeast in particular.

The town hall will take place on Tuesday, March 22 at the Pomeroy Hotel from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m.
