Early Saturday morning, the Fort St. John RCMP arrested a man they believe is responsible for recent parking meter vandalism.
At approximately 3 a.m., the Fort St. John Crime Reduction Unit with the assistance of General Duty members located a 42 year-old Fort St. John male allegedly breaking parking meters on 100th street at 100th avenue.
The male was located wearing shoes that matched impressions left near other broken meters and in possession of a large amount of quarters.
Over the last week, the City has reported over $50,000 in damage as a result of the parking meter vandalism and left.
The investigation continues and charges of theft under $5,000 and mischief over $5,000 are pending. The RCMP cannot release the name of the accused at this time.
