One man has been arrested after an underage male was found with knife injuries in Chetwynd.

Chetwynd RCMP say they responded to a call that a boy had several knife injuries at the Aspen Trailer Court on Feb. 22. They say they first believed the male had caused the injuries himself and he was airlifted to hospital for treatment.

Police say that after continuing their investigation, they discovered the boy’s wounds were not self inflicted and arrested an adult male on Wednesday. The man is currently in custody and is facing charges of aggravated assault.

He is expected to appear in court on Thursday.

Police are not releasing the name of the victim or the accused at this time.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Chetwynd RCMP detachment at 250-788-9221 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
