Two successful weekend games over Grande Prairie have booked the Knights of Columbus Bantam Flyers a trip to the All Peace finals.
Saturday, game one saw the Flyers beat Grande Prairie by a score of 6-2. The Flyers imposed their will from the very beginning of the game, scoring off the opening face off thanks to Lien Miller-Jeannotte.
Jeannotte would give the Flyers a 2-0 lead, scoring his second of the first period with only seconds remaining in the frame.
Three more goals were scored by the Flyers in the second period, as they entered the third with a commanding 5-0 lead.
Despite Grande Prairie scoring twice in the third, Alex Hartman’s second goal allowed the Flyers to complete the game with a 6-2 victory.
Lien Miller-Jeannotte and Alex Hartman each finished the game with two goals and one assist and Sean Gjernes recorded the win in between the pipes.
Sunday saw round two between both clubs. With the Flyers up by one in the second period, Lien Miller Jeannotte tipped in a Chase Allam point shot for the 2-0 lead. Jake Gardener scored for the Flyers to make it 3-0, which would be the eventual game winner.
Grande Prairie was once again able to score twice in the third, cutting the Flyer’s lead down to just a single goal. Although, Dekker Wilkins sucked the wind out from under the sails of Grande Prairie, scoring off a rebound, to end the game 4-2.
Sunday, Lane Delfs earned the win in net for the Bantam Flyers, who will face Dawson Creek this weekend for the All Peace Banner.
