UPDATE #3 – As of 4pm it seems most residents in the region have had their internet service restored.
UPDATE #2 – It sounds like many people in the North Peace are still without service. The latests word is 3:30pm, service should be restored.
UPDATE – Shortly after 2pm internet service was restored in the North Peace.
Shaw Internet services are down in the Fort St. John and Taylor areas.
Internet services went down at around 3 a.m. Monday morning and Shaw officials estimate it should be up by around 2 p.m.
Although an exact cause has not been given, a company official guessed that a fibre optic cable may have been cut.
Several businesses in the area are also affected as debit and credit card machines require an Internet connection.
