Over this past weekend, Fort St. John was represented at Edmonton’s 2011 Power Play Cup.

From Feb.4-7, seven different teams from the Fort St. John Northern Strikers had the opportunity to compete in the soccer tournament. Four of those teams returned home with medals.

The under 12 boys earned a gold medal and the under 10 girls won a silver.

The under 16 mixed team received the highest honour, winning gold, and the under 18’s took home bronze.

Both the under 12 and under 14 girls’ teams both placed fourth in their divisions.

The 2011 Power Play marks the first of many tournaments for the Northern Strikers. The next tournament will be the Slush cup, scheduled to begin in early March.
