Flyers talent recognized through NPHL awards

The NPHL has released its awards results for the 2010/2011 season, with some of the Fort St. John Flyers making the list.

Chris Stevens was awarded league MVP. Stevens plays for the Dawson Creek Canucks, but helped the Flyers win the Allen Cup Last year. This year, he was fourth in the league in scoring and first in scoring in the Western Division.

Since Dawson Creek is the AA affiliate team for the AAA Flyers, the talented left winger will most likely get the call up to join Fort St. John’s Savage Cup roster.

Flyers defensemen Tyler Loney was awarded the honour of making the Western All-Star team. He also placed second in votes for Best Defensemen in the league and was named Best Defensemen in the Western Division.

Flyers Donny Lloyd tied for third, for Best Defensemen in the Western Division.

Adam Horst placed second in the Best Centerman category, while Jeff Shipton tied for third in the Best Right Winger Category for the Western Division.

Chris Stevens also was awarded top honours for Best Left Winger in the West, with Flyers Todd Alexander placing second.

Flyers Forward Bryce Novak also made the list, as he as awarded second in votes for Rookie-of-the-Year in the entire league.

Congratulations to all the players, whose talents were recognized through the reception of these awards.
