Several Conservative candidates approved to run

At least four of the six federal Conservative candidate nominees for the Prince George-Peace River riding have passed the first hurdle and have been officially approved as party candidates.

Don Irwin, Dan Davies, Colin Kinsley, Cameron Stolz and Bob Zimmer have all personally confirmed that they have been accepted as candidates. Jerrilyn Schembri says she has not yet had the required interview.

Once candidate nominations officially close on Feb. 14, the riding association will probably tour the riding, visiting several communities, says Chad Anderson, president of the Prince George-Peace River Riding Association.

At that time, Anderson says anyone who became a member of the Conservative party prior to Feb. 14 will be able to vote for the candidate of their choice.

Neither the dates nor the communities where voting will take place have been determined concretely.

Both the Green Party and the NDP have already chosen their candidates. Hilary Crowley is the Green Party candidate and Lois Boone is the NDP candidate. Both were officially chosen in November.
