The Fort St. John Flyers were in Dawson Creek Thursday night for a game against their NPHL affiliates, the Dawson Creek Sr. Canucks.
Leading the way for the Flyers were youngs guys Matt Shuya and Bryce Novak who notched two goals a piece. The Canucks dug themselves out of numerous holes in the first half of the game. Tying the score at 1-1, 3-3 and 4-4. However, after Atkinson knotted the game at 4’s, the Flyers finally were able to create seperation. A Tyler Loney blast made it 5-4 before Shuya got his 2nd of the game. Captain Dave Alexander capped off the scoring in the second period by make it 7-4 for the Flyers.
A hard fought 3rd period saw Chris Stevens grab his 2nd goal of the game and 4th point of the night on a breakaway to cut the deficit to two goals. It was all for not as Jeff Fast finished the games scoring. 8-5 is the final as the Flyers take care of the Canucks in Dawson Creek.
