Environment Canada may have been close on the amount of snow predicated Wednesday night, but it could be the wind that causes the main problem Thursday.
Official snow fall amounts are not yet available from Environment Canada, but the agency did call for 5 to 10 cm of snow Wednesday night.
The main problem for Thursday is the wind. The wind will gust up to 70 km/h Thursday morning, with the gusts dropping to 60 km/h in the afternoon and evening. With the wind, Fort St. John could see a high temperature of plus 2.
Roads in the region this morning are currently listed as having compact snow and slippery sections. A few like Highway 97 from Taylor to Wonowon is listed as having limited visibility and blowing snow.
