One man is facing six charges after a police pursuit Tuesday afternoon in Grande Prairie.

Grande Prairie RCMP say the incident began Tuesday at around 2 p.m. when an officer saw a Ford F150 truck he believed to be stolen.

They say the officer followed the vehicle to an apartment building where he saw the vehicle’s driver side door open and a male crouching in front of a small car.

The officer then yelled at the male, saying he was under arrest, but the man fled running more than 100 metres before reaching a fence he could not get over.

The officer arrested the 22 year-old Grande Prairie man and found alleged stolen items in the truck, along with a knife.

The man already had an outstanding warrant for a break and enter and is currently facing one count of possession of stolen property over $5,000, three counts of possession of stolen property under $5,000, possession of a weapon and obstruction.
