One man is dead after a tragic snowmobiling accident near Prince George.
Prince George RCMP say they received a call on Sunday at 9:42 p.m. local time of a snowmobile collision at Eena Lake, northwest of the city. The caller had told police the victim had no vital signs.
Police and the B.C. Ambulance service arrived on scene and say they found the collision had occurred on an island in the middle of the lake. Â
A 44 year-old Prince George man was taken to the University Hospital of Northern B.C. where he was declared dead.
Police are still investigating but are waiting for the temperature in the area to drop before it will be safe for investigators to get to the island and determine the man’s cause of death.
