Three people have been arrested after a break-in at the Rotary/Lions Club in Chetwynd.
Chetwynd RCMP say they received a report of the break-in on Tuesday.
Police say the suspects had smashed a rear window in the building and broke all the interior ceiling lights. They also ransacked the building, destroying toilets, sinks and smoke detectors. Furthermore, the suspects wrote graffiti on the Club’s tables and walls, and emptied all the building’s fire extinguishers.
The suspects caused an estimated $10,000 in damage to the property.
Police say they took three suspects into custody later in the afternoon. Each is facing charges of break and enter and mischief over $5,000.
They say one of the suspects is also facing an additional charge of breaching a condition of his current probation and another is facing a charge of theft and possession of stolen property. That suspect was found with a vehicle key that had been stolen less than a day before.
