Huskies struggle at home

The Fort St. John Huskies suffered lost to both Peace River and Beaverlodge this weekend.

On Friday night, the dogs lost 7-1 with the lone goal for the Huskies coming from Cole Calliou at the end of the third period.

On Saturday the Huskies looked to rebound, but ran into a tough Peace River team. In the first period the Huskies scored two goals with the Navigators answering with 3 of their own.

In the second period, the Huskies continued to be out scored as the dogs got two goals from Tyson Perdersen and Brighton Campbell. But those weren’t enough as the Navigators again scored three goals in the second.

The final scored ended up being 9-5 for the Navigators.

The Huskies will now look for a win on Sunday as they hold the annual Fill the Bus fundraiser in support of the Fort St. John food bank.

The team will be collecting food all day Sunday in hopes of reaching their goal of 21,000 pounds.

You can make a donation at Pricesmart from 10am to 1pm, the North Peace Arena or when local volunteers knock on your door.
