FSJ man charged in alleged gay bashing

A Fort St. John man has been charged in an alleged gay bashing.

Dustin James Sciog of Fort St. John has been charged with 3 counts of assault and Michael Anton Hostland of Port Moody has been charged with one count of assault.

Shortly before 3 a.m. on Oct. 8, Vancouver Police were called to an alleged “gay bashing” assault near the Tinseltown Mall at Abbott and West Pender Streets. Two men were initially taken into custody at the scene but were released while the case was being investigated.

Neither Hostland nor Sciog are previously known to police and both are next scheduled to be in court at 9 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 22.
