It seems like just yesterday the we were all celebrating. The city of Fort St John showed an amazing amount of support for the Senior Flyers as they rolled through the field on route to the Allan Cup Championship and I can tell you that the players, staff and everyone involved with the Flyers enjoyed themselves after bringing that National Title home.
Yet here we are seemingly in the blink of an eye at the beginning of a new season of Flyers hockey. In fact the season has already begun with the Flyers off to a 4-0-0-1 start in the NPHL so far. But Friday will be the first chance I will have to bring you a Flyers road game live on Moose FM. I am super excited about getting the broadcast season underway and looking forward to the Flyers renewing their rivalry with the Spirit River Rangers. We will also be bringing you some exhibition games later on this season as the Flyers tune up for AAA action.
I don’t know what will happen with the Savage Cup at this point but at the very least I will be down at the rink watching some great hockey as the Flyers take on Prince George and Penticton for the BC Championship and the right to play the winner of Alberta for a spot in the Allan Cup in Kenora Ontario. It’s a long way off at this point but the Flyers road to the Allan Cup on the Moose starts on Friday.
I will have lots more for you during the pregame show. Friday at 8:15 live on Moose FM and streaming on energeticcity-beta.mystagingwebsite.com. Oh and Flyers fans make sure you follow Twitter.com/energeticcity for updates from Matty Sales throughout the game.
