Just after displaying their Allan Cup Championship banner, the Fort St. John Senior ‘AAA’ Flyers took that excitement into their home opener against Dawson Creek, which they won 10-6.
The Flyers scored the game’s first five goals, all in the first period, to take a 5-0 lead heading into the second. Dawson Creek stormed back in the second scoring three straight goals to bring the score to 5-3.
The Flyers answered back with three straight goals of their own to make the score 8-3 heading into the third period. The Flyers added two goals in the third and Dawson Creek added three to bring the score to its 10-6 final.
Flyers forward Ian Munro lead the Flyers with four goals in the game.
Next up for the Flyers is a home game against Horse Lake next Saturday. Faceoff is at 8:30 p.m. at the North Peace Arena.
