UPDATE: Two men of Grande Prairie, 31 years of age and 48 years of age remain in hospital with serious injuries as the result of an early morning collision west of the City. Both were in a small white car travelling west bound on Highway 43. A 19 year old Grande Prairie woman who was the lone occupant of the other vehicle, which was a suburban, was treated in hospital and released.
The driver of the suburban allegedly failed to stop at the stop sign prior to entering Highway 43. The car was traveling on the inside of the west lanes, and struck the suburban when it entered the highway.
Police continue their investigation.
A collision on Highway 43 west of Grande Prairie is causing significant traffic delays.
The collision occurred at 7 a.m. this morning and delays are expected to last for approximately two hours. RCMP officers are currently on the scene conducting their on scene investigation.
Three people are in hospital as a result of the collision. One occupant who was in a large SUV is suffering from minor injuries. Early reports indicate that two other occupants in a smaller vehicle have suffered more serious injuries.
