The Huskies head to Sexsmith tonight to take on the Vipers. On paper it looks like a mismatch. The Pups only losses this season have come against Peace River and Whitecourt. The Vipers have won just once and it was against Beaverlodge. The Huskies are third in the NWJHL the Vipers dead last.

But that’s a tough building to play in and the Pups often struggle to change their game to fit the size of the ice surface. Coach Kald talked about a simplified dump and chase style being required in that rink. That’s not the strength of this Huskies team but it is the style of game required. The Vipers played Whitecourt very tough on home ice a few weeks back and were unlucky to come out on the losing side of that one. As with most teams they are tougher on their own turf no matter who they are playing.

So while it may look like a potential blow out I think what happens on the ice may hold some surprises. We will have the game for you coming up tonight at 7pm FSJ time on 100.1 Moose FM and here at
