RCMP in Prince George busted a large marijuana grow operation just south of the city, on Horrock Road on Oct 14.
Police located 2,634 marijuan plants in differing stages of growth as well as 31 pounds of dried marijuana stored in separate bags, which was ready to be distributed on the street. The value of the seizure is estimated to be $500,000. The RCMP also recovered an ATV on the property that had been reported as stolen from Alberta.
Police arrested one male in the residence and are now on the lookout for the owner of the property. Charges for Production of a Controlled Substance and Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking have been forwarded to Crown Counsel. Police are also in consultation with the Integrated Proceeds of Crime Unit which might lead to further charges.
The RCMP is asking that anyone with information call the Prince George detachment at 250-561-3300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
