The Enform Petroleum Saftey Conference is in Fort St. John on Oct. 19-20.
The event which has been running for four years will be held at the North Peace Cultural Centre. The conference is meant to promote health and safety within the oil and gas industry and provide a forum for suppliers and professional networking.
The theme for this year’s conference is “Leadership: The Business of Safety” and will be highlighted by two keynote speakers. The first is Mike Williamsen who holds a PhD and is the vice president of consulting services at CoreMedia. Williamsen is a nationally recognized workplace safety consultant with more than 30 years of safety and business change management experience.
The other speaker is retired Major General Louis MacKenzie. MacKenzie has been referred to by Maclean’s magazine as the “greatest living speaker in Canada.” In 1990 General MacKenzie was appointed Commander of the United Nation’s Observer mission in Central America. Two years later he was assigned to the United Nation’s Protection Force in Yugoslavia.
MacKenzie will use the lessons of 36 years of military experience into 10 practical, enduring and easy-to-apply tips that will enhance ones leadership style.
