The Knights of Columbus Bantam Tier 2 Flyers were 1-1 during preseason action over the weekend.

They travelled to Fairview on Saturday to face the Bruins and headed home with a 6-1 win. All six Flyer goals were scored by different players showing the team’s depth heading into the regular season. Sean Gjernes played a strong game in goal for the Flyers. Gjernes was just three minutes away from a shutout when Fairview was able to score its only goal.

Then on Sunday the Flyers headed to Grande Prairie, but lost that game 6-4. The Flyers managed to score first in the game on a goal by Thomas Webster, but Grande Prairie rallied for two quick goals to take a 2-1 lead heading into the second.

Grande Prairie managed to stay ahead 4-3 heading into the third period. The Flyers were able to tie the game 4-4 just under ten minutes into that period on a goal by Trystan Baxter, but Grande Prairie answered back just three minutes later to take a 5-4 lead.

They would not relinquish the lead from that point on. Grande Prairie added an empty net goal to make the 6-4 final. Lane Delfs tended goal for the Flyers stopping 30 shots.

Next up for the Flyers is a tournament in Quesnel next weekend.
